A man of the people. Nipsey Hussle was an ispiration to hustlers, rappers, entrprenuers, fitness fantatics and schoolkids alike. A rap career that started with the harsh realities of the streets in South Central Los Angeles quickly transformed into a voice of aspiration that motivated people of all types of backgrounds, all over the world
Reebok released the first look at some Reebok Classic Nylon commerating the gang ties of Nipsey and Y. Little did they know they would not be appreciated by the rappers. Nipsey later stating that gang culture is not for sale by him and these were an unauthorized release. At the time, Nipsey had public ties with Puma. - As an early fan, a love for sneakers, and graphic designer, I loved the exeuction and the use of all the logos so I turned it into fan art.
“Nipsey Hussle is one of my all-time favorite rappers. I could say so much about him, but I don’t even have the words to encapsulate all that he has given me since I started listening to him in 2009.
His music videos, “Hussle in the House” and “They Roll,” are forever engrained in my mind.
I remember waiting on the edge of my seat for the newest release date for “South Central State of Mind,” even after numerous pushbacks.
I’ve cried discussing the impact Nipsey Hussle has had on my life, the people around me, the industry, and the culture.
I’m still in disbelief that a street cat from LA with the discipline to continue despite the barriers from radio, the industry, the LAPD, and the things life throws at you, managed to do what he did.
He never gave up and stayed the course. Nipsey played the long game, never compromised and never folded.
